Exploring Pula Day 1: Ancient History, Quaint Villages, Scenic Beaches and trying Istrian Cuisine 🌞 Welcome to Day 1 of my Pula travel series! Today’s adventure took us from ancient Roman ruins to hidden Croatian villages and a beautiful beach. Here’s the journey! 1. Pula Arena 🎫 Our first stop was the iconic Pula Arena, a remarkably preserved Roman amphitheater from the 1st century AD. Known for its grandeur, the Arena once hosted gladiatorial games and public events. You can walk through the Arena, admire its ancient architecture, and even view the underground chambers. Tickets cost around 70 HRK (€9), and it’s worth every penny for history buffs and casual travelers alike. 2. Museum Inside Pula Amphitheatre 🏛️ Next, we explored the museum beneath the amphitheater, which showcases artifacts from Pula’s Roman past. Exhibits include tools for olive oil and wine production, giving you a glimpse into daily life in ancient Pula. This part of the Arena experience adds depth to its history, highlighting the city’s significance in the Roman Empire. 3. Kotli Village 🌿 From the city, we ventured to Kotli Village. This charming, secluded spot along the Mirna River is dotted with stone houses, waterfalls, and natural pools. Once a bustling mill village, it’s now an enchanting place for photography and peaceful walks. There’s no entrance fee, but don’t forget to bring a camera and comfortable shoes for exploring the rustic beauty of this area. 4. Draguć Village 🏰 After Kotli, we made our way to Draguć, affectionately called “Istria’s Hollywood” due to its role in several films. This medieval hilltop village, with its narrow streets, ancient stone houses, and scenic views, transports you back in time. The village itself is free to explore, and you’ll find small cafes and shops with local crafts along the way. 5. Verudula Beach 🏖️ To end our day, we relaxed at Verudula Beach, a popular coastal spot near Pula known for its clear waters and scenic surroundings. It’s a fantastic place to unwind after a day of exploration. You’ll find ample spots for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling here. There’s usually no entry fee, but local amenities, like umbrellas and beach chairs, are available for rent. Thanks for joining me on this incredible first day in Pula! Keep watching to see more of Croatia’s hidden gems and historical treasures in the days ahead. 🌊✨ Audio Credits: Technology Future Daydreaming Do it again Sport Dubstep A nice day Morning Vow Echoes of Remembrance Technology Future All Music is taken from the light cut DJI app and used as a background music.
