Nest History: As of the 2025-2026 season, Liberty (female) is 24-26 years old. Guardian (male) is 11-12 years old. Guardian is Liberty's third mate. Liberty and Guardian first paired up in February 2019 after Liberty's second mate disappeared due to unknown cause. Liberty's Mates: First mate ~ Patriot 2004?/2005?-2013 (Patriot died). Second mate ~ Spirit 2013-2019 (Spirit disappeared due to unknown cause). Third mate ~ Guardian 2019-present. As of June 2025, Liberty has raised 26 offspring from egg to fledging, including four sets of trios in 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2021 !!! In 2024/2025, Liberty built here sixth nest, but did not lay any eggs for the first time in almost two decades. The current nest is in the Turtle Bay Area, where two of the previous ones were. Three previous nests were located at the Riverview Golf & Country Club (alternate nest site).
