It is interesting to note that Cedric King Palmer (1913-1999) would write some light music descriptive of our canine friends, as he was known for keeping a series of dogs, all named Nimrod after the Elgar Variations. 'Dogs Day' is from the Francis, Day & Hunter mood music library and is, in fact, on the same disc as his composition 'Light Relief'', recently uploaded. Many of these short snippets were composed to evoke a specific mood for radio, television and films. Many were used multiple times and have become familiar while remaining anonymous, because they are mostly used uncredited. King Palmer contributed over 600 titles to London publishers' libraries during his career. 'Dogs Day' is played by the New Century Orchestra conducted by Ivor Slaney (FDH 340)
