The session titled "SPDX Safety Profile" by Nicole Pappler, AlektoMetis is from the ELISA Project workshop held at Volvo Cars Lund Office in Lund Sweden from May 7-9, 2025. Nicole describes ongoing work to create an SPDX-based model for functional‐safety documentation. Learn how the Fusa group is extending core SPDX classes like elements and artifacts to define requirements, traceability, tasks, and evidence in a unified format. By leveraging SPDX 3.0’s relationships, this profile aims to replace fragmented Excel/PowerPoint workflows with a standardized, tool‐agnostic exchange format for FAOs, test cases, analyses, and process descriptions. Contributors are invited to shape the evolving model and align it with hardware profiles, ensuring seamless integration across tools and project variants. Slides can be accessed here: https://directory.elisa.tech/workshop... About the ELISA Project: The Enabling Linux In Safety Applications (ELISA) project aims to make it easier for companies to build and certify Linux-based safety-critical applications – systems whose failure could result in loss of human life, significant property damage or environmental damage. ELISA members are working together to define and maintain a common set of tools and processes that can help companies demonstrate that a specific Linux-based system meets the necessary safety requirements for certification. ELISA is also working with certification authorities and standardization bodies in multiple industries to establish how Linux can be used as a component in safety-critical systems.
