We can't get the "Cheapest Michelin Star Meal in the World", Hawker Chan, in Ilocos Norte but we found the next best thing: in the newest Filipino street food night market in the Provincial Capitol of Ilocos Norte, we found a local street food stall serving awesome soya sauce chicken, char siu pork, and fresh made Singaporean style noodles! The BuyIN Laoag Sunday Market launched in March 2021 as a new weekly night market for street food vendors serving a wide array of Filipino and international cuisine. We visited the Laoag Sunday Market on its third week running, in April 2021, and discovered a depth of food to choose from, starting with Filipino favorites such as Ilocano empanadas, beef pares, and Filipino style BBQ skewers to Korean street food (tteokbokki, odeng, etc.), Vietnamese banh mi, Hungarian sausage, and shawarma.
