How to fix damaged bathroom floor from previously fixed shower leak. The original leak was fixed in July 2021 but unbeknown to me the water had spread along the gap in the floor under the vinyl. After noticing some dips and bumps with the vinyl floor in the bathroom it was decided it needed to be investigated. On lifting the vinyl, it was found that a past shower leak had damaged the flooring. The past shower leak was caused by a plastic (PVC) pipe which had been pierced during the shower installation. The installer had used screws that were too long and one of them had gone against the plastic hot water feed pipe causing it to leak under heat and pressure. The old vinyl had been laid directly on latex levelling compound over chipboard. The old levelling compound required removal then repairing the chipboard with wood filler. This video includes laying plywood on chipboard then fitting s new vinyl floor. This video is a guide only, all work done at owner's risk.
