Communication is increasingly important in a globalized world - but in which language? As a native language and a second language, English holds first place. Other languages are being left behind. For this reason, the German government has launched a major initiative in many countries to promote German as a global language. The program provides financial assistance for teaching materials, teacher training, and scholarships to students. In the last part of our series on Global 3000, we accompany two young Indonesians awarded such stipends, Devi and Yolanda, in their first encounter with the German way of life.
