Turkish citizenship by investment is a great program for foreigners who want a reliable second citizenship and passport. It is one of the most popular golden visa program in the world. In this video I explain the eligibility criteria, investment options and required documents for the Citizenship by Investment Program in Turkey. Firstly, Turkish Citizenship allows foreigners a great second passport in an amazing country. You can use withdraw investment funds only in after 3 years and foreigners can still keep their Turkish citizenship. The minimum required investment is $400,000 real estate investment and $500,000 bank deposit investment to acquire the Turkish citizenship by investment. The investor, spouse of investor and children below 18 years old can apply to Turkish citizenship with the same investment. Other family members such as father, mother, sister, brother and children above 18 years old are not eligible to apply to the Turkish Citizenship by Investment, they need to make separate investment. The required documents for the Turkish Citizenship by Investment program are birth certificate, marriage certificate and criminal record. These documents have to be apostilled, translated and notarized to be used to apply for Turkish Citizenship. If apostille is not possible, they have to be stamped by the Turkish Embassy in foreigner’s country or by the foreigner’s embassy in Turkey. In the first step of Turkish citizenship by investment, you need to open a bank account in Turkey. Turkish banks ask address document and potential tax id number from foreigners to open a bank account. Then, you can transfer funds to Turkey with SWIFT. The second important step is the currency exchange certificate. You can conver USD, EUR and GBP to Turkish Lira using the central bank of Turkey’s rate to make your investment eligible for the Turkish Citizenship by Investment Program. It is called Döviz Alım Belgesi (DAB). Then, you can identify which property buy and start the title deed procedures to purchase the property. The seller can take title deed appointment on Webtapu system. Also, foreigners need to make a valuation report to purchase a property. GEDAŞ company is responsible for the valuation report preparation in Turkey. Property valuation report in Turkey costs apprx. $1,400. Finally you or your lawyer can sign purchase document at the title deed office to buy the property in your name. In the next step, foreigners need to apply to Investment Eligibility Report to be eligible to apply to Turkish Residence Permit and Turkish Citizenship by Investment. Investor residence permit is required to apply for the Turkish citizenship. It is called J-type residence permit and it usually takes 2-3 weeks. After your residence permit is approved, foreigners can apply to Turkish Citizenship. The approval comes within 6-10 months. After it is approved you can apply for your ID card and Passport.
