Tacoma originating from the state of Washington was a small company that got noticed and subsequently bought by Fender. unfortunately after a few years the finish would.lift off the body causing "fish eye" or "snake skin" effect. The story was the humidity was too high and caused the paint to lift. I can say after redoing a few of these, that's not the case. It seems Tacoma used a sanding sealer that didn't jive with the clear coat they sprayed. The refinishing probably cess is labor intensive. What's left of the old finsh needs to be removed then the sealer coat needs to be sanded and bleed out if the pores of the wood. The result is a more lustrous look to the wood and, the sound is amazing!!! It's not cheap to do this work. But if you're into "tone" and a unique instrument no one has, this is a great investment.
