Shibuya is one of the most popular destinations in Tokyo, but not everyone knows that beyond its famous crossings, neon lights, and nightlife, there are equally beautiful places that make this city even more special. In this video, I want to show some of these lesser-known spots that are certainly worth a visit. From brutalist architectures to futuristic canals and secret restaurants, this is my itinerary: 0:00 intro 2:32 1 - Toho bridge - This small bridge crosses the canal behind Shibuya Station. It was used by Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) for the final scenes of his first film Love & Pop. At night, the canal lights up with laser and smoke effects, creating an absolutely cyberpunk atmosphere. 11:02 2 - Nonbei Yokocho - This narrow street, lined with small bars and eateries on both sides, is one of the very few characteristic spots that still preserves the atmosphere of the Showa era. It’s very reminiscent of Golden Gai in Shinjuku. 18:26 3 - Villa Moderna (ビラ モデルナ) Less than 10 minutes from the city center, there is a 1970s apartment building that is a rare example of brutalist architecture. The living spaces, divided into cells with a stepped design, symbolically embrace a tree at the center of a courtyard. A true gem for architecture lovers. 28:28 4 - Shirubee - Shirubee Shibuya is a hidden restaurant. The only way to get there is by entering through the front of a building, exiting from the back, and following a narrow dark walkway until you reach a small sliding wooden door. It’s a restaurant with excellent Japanese cuisine that you can only experience if you know how to find it. 35:23 5 - Cosmic slope - It’s a narrow street full of nightlife spots where you can enjoy live music and drinks. With its many neon signs, just walking through it is already a spectacle in itself. 44:13 6 - The Church - If you want to take part in a rather unusual kind of “holy mass,” Bar the Church is the place for you. Nuns serve the drinks, and organ music turns into house and techno. 52:08 7 - Toto building - A building that lights up at night, creating one of the most striking scenes in the city. With its typically Asian charm, this building is a popular destination for street photographers. During cherry blossom season, the street beside it is filled with the colors and vibes that are so characteristic of Japan. 🎧 Headphones recommended for full experience. https://maps.app.goo.gl/zUzTH12ZzGt6w... #tokyounseen #tokyowalk #4kcitywalk #hiddenjapan #tokyo #japan #explorejapan #virtualwalk #virtualtokyo #4kjapan
