With just anchovies in the tank and no sardines in sight, it was going to be a challenge… but that didn’t stop us from sending cast after cast, working every inch of the front side. Alex, Vinny, Eugen, and I pushed hard all day, hoping for that signature blowup only a surface iron yellowtail can deliver. For those who don’t know — I’m a new boat owner learning the SoCal fishery from the ground up. After years of fishing on sport boats and splitting time between football and work, I finally have the flexibility (and the boat!) to fully dive into this lifestyle.
