"WHY Would A Straight Man March In PRIDE?!?"

My Wife and I have been volunteering skills and marching in #NottsPride for near 20 years now - and I was looking for inspiration for making my on-site vlog this year and coming up blank - until someone on my socials randomly commented "Why would a STRAIGHT man EVER want to March in PRIDE?!?!".... This video is an attempt at answering that question! And what an important question/comment that is - because, yes I do have very close loved ones who are part of the LGBTQ+I'm community - but agreed - I'm straight, and therefore can't FULLY empathise with my LGBTQ+ peers. And yes, over they years, I've witnessed LGBTQ+ rights and general public acceptance get increasingly better... Until post-Covid (and especially this last two years or so). Sadly the rise of alt-right populist parties, and viewpoints around the world, has slowed or in some countries even reversed laws based around LGBTQ+ rights (see the High Court reversal of the definition of a Women in the UK Equality Act 2010 - see source below) - and this seems to have given "permission" to a previously silent group of people who fear the tide of human progress to verbally (weather online or IRL), or in many cases even physically abuse people who identify as LGBTQ+. As a person with family and friends in this community who have themselves been affected, this NEEDS to stop. Now. As a middle aged man, I have seen the dark side of where this trend is heading back in the 70s and 80s, and no good can come from it - for ANYONE. No-one will "win" - Heterosexuals, Homosexuals, Trans people - No one. Whilst we are all distracted and divided - we will ALL be conquered.
