Today I took a walk to the War Museum Cambodia in Siem Reap, Cambodia — a unique open-air collection that showcases authentic remnants from decades of conflict across this country’s turbulent 20th century. This museum isn’t a typical indoor museum — most of the exhibits are spread outdoors under trees, with military hardware that was gathered from sites of heavy fighting in places like Anlong Veng, Siem Reap and Odor Meanchey. A large portion of the collection consists of Soviet-made gear used during Cambodia’s long conflicts — especially from the Cambodian Civil War and later insurgencies.
