Today, after the disappointing results from narrowboat Lola, we had one last 70ft narrowboat to look at, except we didn't look at it. Without even viewing the boat, we got a survey on it. In fairness, we were at our wits' end with driving around the country wasting petrol and time viewing these boats, as the most important thing is a good hull; this boat, being in Hemel, was two and a half hours from us. Here's what we knew about the boat: it was built in 2000, 70ft long, trad stern, needed a full repaint, needed work in the interior, and most interestingly, it has a very old engine, an 80 to 90-year-old Lister JP3.
