In this talk, Ranjita Ghosh, Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, presents research examining the patterns and predictors of menopause across India. In India, increasing life expectancy means more women are living through menopause and the decades that follow. Yet public health programs largely focus on women only through their reproductive years, leaving a critical gap in understanding and addressing health needs after menopause. The talk emphasizes the urgent need to rethink public health policies for women beyond reproductive age, strengthen awareness and counselling around procedures like hysterectomy, and improve education, nutrition, and family planning support for vulnerable populations. 🔔 Subscribe and stay tuned!
