This was a true season-saving storm. We spent the entire day hunting powder stashes around the mountain and somehow kept finding untracked snow well into the afternoon. Cold smoke, soft landings, filled-in terrain, and lines that haven’t been skiable most of the winter suddenly came back to life. For a day, Crested Butte honestly felt more like skiing Japan than Colorado. Locals showed up early, lift lines were buzzing, and every chairlift ride felt like the first powder day of the season. After weeks of thin coverage, firm conditions, and closed terrain, the mountain finally reset.
