Cendana Auto Manufacturing Plant Visit

Received an invite for a closer look at what the Cendana Auto manufacturing plant is like. Located in Perindustrian Hi-Tech 7, Semenyih, the moderate-sized plant is only one of their two manufacturing sites. After a brief by the company's Chief Operating Officer, Shahrinoldin Othman, we were taken on a tour of the plant and rides on some of their vehicles. Currently in production line is an order of 46 units of a one-ton General Service Cargo Truck for the Markas Angkatan Tentera Malaysia. Based on the Toyota Hilux 4X4 single-cab truck, the truck bed was removed to be fitted with a fully customised covered cabin. Here, the safety and comfort of the passengers were highly looked upon, it's designed with a full rollbar, covered wall panels, flip-down seats with seatbelts and ventilation. To maximise the use of space, additional compartments were added to the side of the bed. Sidebars provide protection to the vehicle cab. Noticed that much attentions were given to waterproofing the rear cabin before going into the paint shop. These GCTs are scheduled to be completed in December before production moves to complete another batch of 82 units of the GCT for Tentera Darat Malaysia. Unlike the ATM's version, the TDM truck's bed will only be cage and canvas finished. Other vehicles available for our view are the MIFV-CH25 SLEP proposal. Will not go into too much detail, as we shared a video on the rebuilding process of the IFV some months back, so check it out. Got to ride in the MIFV, and it was not as bumpy or noisy as I thought it would be. The fully rebuilt IFV comes with many new features and add-ons. Most obvious is the RCWS, which was tested at the last Latihan Kuasa Tembak. We also have the opportunity to ride in the Magatti and Vec7or. Learned a lot about their build, especially the Magatti. My camera was giving me some problems, and I missed a bit on the completed GS Cargo. Will request from Cendana Auto for another visit for a full view of the vehicle before they are delivered to ATM.
