A Cruise Ship Watertight Door SOLAS Training Video I created when I was working as Safety Officer onboard the cruise ship Thomson Celebration. It was used as a training aid during the Safety Induction that all crew members are required to go through. Watertight Doors can be found on all cruise ships, usually on the lowest crew only decks, on older ships like Thomson Celebration (Ex Noordam) there are also watertight doors located on some passenger decks. In general crew members are not permitted to operate the watertight doors unless their life is in danger, however SOLAS requires that all crew members are shown how to do so upon joining a vessel.
