In this video I'm demonstrating the Jumbo Bass Subwoofer Cajon from Meinl Percussion. It's got impressive bass tone and great projection. The projection and volume are enhanced by the large ports on the front, which also help add weight to the sound. This is a great cajon for live performance, with a sound that really holds its own in a mix. The Jumbo Bass Subwoofer Cajon sports a carbon-fiber body, so it's lightweight, with a walnut frontplate that has a nice sound and feel to it. The sitting surface is textured so that you don't slide around on it. In all, this is a comfortable drum to play. One thing I noticed is that the internal snares had a very dynamic response, and really allowed for some expressive playing. And the snares add just the right amount of snappy highs without obscuring the low-end impact. If you're looking for a cajon for live performance, acoustic ensembles or recording, you should definitely check out the Meinl Percussion Jumbo Bass Subwoofer Cajon.
