The M1911 was created by John Browning and served as the standard issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986. This example, manufactured in 1943 by the Remington Rand corporation is treasured in my collection, even though it is far from all original and has several new internal parts. I enjoy the blend of new and old here which makes this gun a “shooter”. I doubt you will find a gun with as many incarnations as this as every manufacturer under the sun makes a version. John Browning would be proud how we still respect and embrace this design even now in our “tech” world of polymer and red dots. Enjoy.
