SmartThings Motion Sensor Vs The Aeotec Multisensor 6 - How One Improved My Automation Samsung SmartThings and their Motion Sensors or their Multipurpose Sensors are very good. They're fantastic ZigBee sensors that drive great automation and allow you to sense both motion and temperature (or contact/distance and temperature). Unfortunately, this is where your automation ends and the only way to go about upgrading your automation is by getting a better sensor with more capabilities. In comes the Aeotec Multisensor 6. Not only does it have the ability to sense motion and temperature changes, but it also has a relative humidity, tamper, UV, and lux or illumination level sensor.
