The fact is lasers are energy producing devices. Lasers give energy and that energy we have to use for treating any disease including in our department of proctology. They have made a good progress because of the use of lasers there is no doubt about it but because we use laser there won't be recurrence is a misnomer. If the principles of surgery are not followed, if a proper diagnosis is not made, if the diagnosis is incomplete, if you not clear the whole track, if you have not attended to all the details of the fistula using lasers they don't have magic. So we can use lasers for a different purposes but the recurrence has nothing to do with usage of laser. In fact people who use only lasers without taking care of the rest of the fistula tract and simply burn fistula track the recurrence rate is much higher.
