Ukinebo Dare speaks on living from the perspective of "giving" instead of "taking". She shares on the advantage of being valuable at every giving time. Ukinebo Dare believes strongly that if Africans are empowered with the right skills and support, we can compete and win globally. Ukinebo Dare is the Managing Director of the Edo State Skills Development Agency and she oversees the Edojobs initiative. An arm of the government that is responsible for implementing programs towards the fulfilment of the promise of His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki, Executive Governor of Edo State to create 200,000 jobs in 4 years. Since her tenure, over 150,000 youth have benefitted from the State Government’s job creation initiatives. She is the recipient of many awards and recognitions including the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award for Personal Achievement in Nigeria 2017, the Ford Foundation Prize for Youth Employment at the Future Awards Africa in 2015, Business Day and the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment 40 Under 40, in 2019 among others. She is a 2019 MIPAD100 honoree, recognizing her along with other global leaders as one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent under 40. She was also selected by the United States Department of State as a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow. Ukinebo Dare believes strongly that if Africans are empowered with the right skills and support, we can compete and win globally.
