SCIENTIST'S REPORTS: ENTRY NUMBER 1 A visitor dropped by the house today. I think they were a monster - I couldn't see their face. We talked for a minute - Well, more like they talked to me. Something about other worlds? And then they disappeared, and all they left behind was a data drive. ENTRY NUMBER 2 That drive... It had blueprints. A way to access other worlds - using the power of "Darkness." This would be a massive breakthrough... But I've been forcibly retired. I can't. I shouldn't. I.... ENTRY NUMBER 3 Darkness can be harnesses through the Determination in someone's SOUL, and that Data drive revealed to me that even Monsters have trace amounts of Determination. By drawing it out, that Darkness can be harnessed, and controlled. So that's what that SOUL harness is for... ENTRY NUMBER 4 The queen came by, talked with Undyne for a bit. I got really nervous - I can't let them know what I'm doing down here. The last time I did experiments... ... but this time will be different. Something's telling me it just... it has to be. ENTRY NUMBER 5 The machine is finished. I'll begin the experiment tonight, once Undyne goes to bed. I want as little distractions as possible.
