Special Assignment Request (a different path to the right school)

If the school assigned to your address doesn’t feel like the right fit, you’re not stuck, and you’re definitely not out of options. Special Assignment Requests (SARs) enable families to apply for schools outside their designated zone when space is available. It’s one of the educational opportunities offered by Pinellas County Schools. At this session, we’ll walk through what SAR really means, who it works best for, how to apply, and how to decide if it’s the right move for your family. Application window: January 19–30, 2026. Come curious. Leave confident and even excited about what other school options you have besides your zone, magnet, and fundamental programs.
