Forgive the audio cut outs. It's youtube flipping out over the music that was on the radio. I started keeping the radio off in later videos. Soldotna means "Place of Soldiers" in Russian and supposedly got it's name from vets retiring in the area. Kenai gets it's name from the Kenaitze native tribe. The city of Kenai is also the location of the mouth of the world-renowned Kenai River. Kalifornsky means "Californian" and was the nic name for an immigrant from California who made some waves around the turn of the previous century. Locals call it "K-Beach" for short. 0:19 passing the Soldotna trooper post on the left. You can't see the building, but you can see the access to the parking lot. Soldotna troopers were regulars on the tv show "Alaska's State Troopers" 0:38 i think the turn on the right is to the Soldotna Community College. I could be wrong. 9:08 Crossing over the Kenai River near the mouth.
