Sharon Katz composed this song in 1992 on the cusp of change in South Africa. The timeless message of "we're waiting for leaders to show us the way" has never been more relevant. The song was first performed as a part of the iconic "When Voices Meet" concert in Durban City Hall with 500 voice children's choir and band in 1992 prior to South Africa's first democratic elections of 1994 when Nelson Mandela was elected President after his 27 years imprisonment by the Apartheid regime. Sharon received Mandela's blessings to go forward with The Peace Train Project. The song was orchestrated and performed as a part of the "Crossing Rhythms" production directed by Sharon in 1997.
