So my last few days in London involved going to the Victoria and Albert Museum (always a must). I find the cast courts especially calming. And another place to visit "old friends" from past visits. When I worked at the ROM I worked on a book on Safavid pottery with my old professor and a couple of curators. The V&A has a terrific collection of this pottery. Check out this page on the history of the cast rooms https://www.vam.ac.uk/articles/histor... I moved on that day to the Design Museum. I visited this before so long ago that they are in a new location that's almost 10 years old! https://designmuseum.org/ And as luck would have it, there's a Cass Art shop nearly right beside it. When I got back from St. Ives I went on a sunny Sunday to Marylebone High Street. I popped into Daunt books (it was heaving!). I didn't realize Fabriano was nearby. I just wanted to see what they had. It's more of a gift shop than art supply store. On my very last day I went to Stuart Stevenson in Clerkenwell and I'm so glad I didn't miss this shop. I nearly forgot. It is just jammed with supplies and some brands I hadn't seen before. https://shop.stuartstevenson.co.uk/ Subscribe so you don't miss out on my upcoming art haul video to see what I bought. If you missed my St. Ives video check it out here: • St Ives, Cornwall - Painting Course and Ga... As always, be sure to check out my website. There are a load of things for fellow artists like colour charts that I swatch on this channel available for download as a pdf. There are art book reviews and instructions on how to make your own sketchbook (with video here on YouTube). I also have a list of art shops in different cities including my hometown of Toronto (updated with London finds!). There are lists of artists who inspire me that you can find on Instagram or YouTube as well as others you’ll find in art history books. I also provide a list of art related podcasts and online courses. You can also see what I take when I'm urban sketching. And you can purchase handmade watercolour through my website! So much for you for all things art. https://www.eileenreillyarts.com/ or follow me on Instagram @eileenreillyarts and @ot.to_watercolour 00:00 Victoria and Albert Museum 10:21 Design Museum 12:16 Cass Art High Street Kensington 13:04 Daunt Books 13:36 Fabriano Boutique 17:49 Stuart Stevenson Art Shop
