The Ethics Archery Spinning arrow inserts are an interesting product! They're manufactured with precision, install easily and spin with little effort ... but DO THEY WORK? (as advertised). The concept behind the freely spinning arrow insert is that less of the kinetic energy imparted to the arrow by the bow will be wasted in rotating the weight of the field point (or broadhead) because the arrow spins independently of the point. If this holds true, then arrows with spinning inserts SHOULD demonstrate MORE RETAINED speed downrange. In our test the Ethics inserts SHOWED PROMISE and it appears as though the concept may indeed WORK -- albeit in a somewhat limited capacity for impacting arrow performance at distances of less than 50-60 yds. VERY PRECISE and CONTROLLED TESTING (at distances of 50 yds and beyond) would be needed to further demonstrate proof.
