The almost forgotten 1953 German Uprising

June 17th 1953 is an important date in German history. After years of repression, the people in the German Democratic Republic started a protest. This video explains how it came to the protest, what happend during the demonstration and what came out of it. In the second part I will talk about how the Uprising is remembered today.
