Stephen Tung Wai 董瑋 - actor - action director - director Born in Shanghai in 1954, Stephen Tung Wai 董瑋 moved to Hong Kong when he was four years old. He studied Beijing Opera 京劇 during his childhood at the Spring and Autumn Drama School 春秋戲劇學校 under famed teacher Madame Fan Fok-Fah 粉菊花 for eleven years, alongside other Hong Kong movie legends such as Lam Ching-Ying 林正英, Mang Hoi 孟海, Hsiao Hou 小侯, and many more. In 1965, Stephen Tung started his film career as a child actor in the film Squadron 77 七七敢死 and began working as a stunt double in 1970. He later followed action director Han Ying-Chieh 韓英傑 to Taiwan to pursue a career in action choreography, working on multiple productions in front and behind the cameras. In 1981, Stephen Tung returned to Hong Kong and joined TVB, appearing on many TV series and working on movies. He soon would start serving as an action choreographer, developing a very distinctive style of action, and working with all major filmmakers and winning countless prices, an impressive career that spans over five decades.
