VERSE 1 — LIKE A CHILD אָמֵן אֲנִי אוֹמֵר לָכֶם, Unless you turn, וְתָשׁוּבוּ and become like children, וִהְיִיתֶם כַּיְּלָדִים, לֹא תָבוֹאוּ into the kingdom of heaven. הַמַּשְׁפִּיל אֶת עַצְמוֹ כַּיֶּלֶד הַזֶּה — Whoever humbles himself like this child, הוּא הַגָּדוֹל in the kingdom of heaven. VERSE 2 — STUMBLING BLOCKS כָּל הַמַּכְשִׁיל אֶחָד מִן הַקְּטַנִּים הָאֵלֶּה who believe in Me, טוֹב לוֹ it would be better for him כִּי רֵחַיִם גְּדוֹלָה תִּתָּלֶה עַל צַוָּארוֹ a great millstone be hung around his neck וְיֻטַּל בְּמַצּוּלוֹת הַיָּם — and be drowned in the depth of the sea. רְאוּ פֶּן תִּבְזוּ See that you do not despise אֶחָד מִן הַקְּטַנִּים הָאֵלֶּה. VERSE 4 — RECEIVING AND FORGIVING הַמְקַבֵּל יֶלֶד כָּזֶה בִּשְׁמִי Whoever receives one such child in My name אוֹתִי הוּא מְקַבֵּל — receives Me. וְאִם יֶחֱטָא לְךָ אָחִיךָ If your brother sins against you, לֵךְ וְהוֹכַחְתָּ אוֹתוֹ go and tell him his fault, בֵּינְךָ וּבֵינוֹ לְבַדֶּךָ. אִם יִשְׁמַע אֵלֶיךָ — If he listens, קָנִיתָ אֶת אָחִיךָ. you have gained your brother. BRIDGE — BINDING AND LOOSING כֹּל אֲשֶׁר תֶּאֶסְרוּ עַל הָאָרֶץ Whatever you bind on earth יֵאָסֵר בַּשָּׁמָיִם, shall be bound in heaven. וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר תַּתִּירוּ עַל הָאָרֶץ Whatever you loose on earth יֻתַּר בַּשָּׁמָיִם. כִּי בִּמְקוֹם אֲשֶׁר שְׁנַיִם אוֹ שְׁלֹשָׁה For where two or three נֶאֱסָפִים בִּשְׁמִי are gathered in My name, שָׁם אֲנִי בְּתוֹכָם. there am I among them.
