Sikhs Cooking 10,000 Aloo Sabji (Potato Curry) + Rotis at London Gurdwara for Vaisakhi Langar 2023

In this video documentary we visit Sikh "Gurdwara Dasmesh Darbar" in East London where Punjabi Sikh volunteers (Sevadars) prepare & cook langer; enough to feed 10,000 people for the 2023 Vaisakhi (aka Baisakhi) Festival in Trafalgar Square, UK The Vaisakhi event celebrates Sikh and Punjabi culture and is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar. Sikhs give out free food (called langar), langar is Prasadam (also known as blessed food ) so they don't charge for it. In the gurdwara, leading the main cooking was 67 year old Mr Singh. POTATO CURRY RECIPE INGREDIENTS USED: Oil Cumin Seeds Garlic Paste Onion Fried Potatoes Turmeric Powder Dry Fenugreek Leaves Green Chillies Tandoori Masala Powder Tomato Puree Ginger Paste Salt It's a labour of love because the volunteers do not have a scheduled finish time to finish; in fact on the day that they cooked they finished at 3:00am in the morning. Incredibly the following day they then managed to get to Trafalgar Square at 10:30am to give out the free food. It is very much a privilege, honour and humbling to witness such unconditional service. (Sikh Empowerment Voluntary Association) volunteer team who were serving up the delicious vegetarian food which was Aloo Subzi (dry potato curry) served with . The S.E.V.A. team (East London) regularly set up a street kitchen to provide free food for the people (on the streets of the United Kingdom) who need it the most.
