PART ONE A MISSION FROM GOD

Growing up in a single parent household in the 1970's was not the norm. I grew up with an inferiority complex due to being the only kid on the block that did not live with both parents. My parents divorced when I was three years old due to my father's abusive nature and bouts with alcoholism As a result of feeling a loss of my relationship with my father and moving multiple times by the age of nine causing me to lose friendships as fast as I made them, caused me to shut down emotionally at the age of nine. Rather than go outside and make friends in my new neighborhood I chose to stay inside and watch TV on Saturdays and Sundays. My cousin Rocco who was my age came to my house one day when we were eleven years old and told me that he was on a Mission from God. I asked him what the mission was? He said, His mission was to get me out of the house and to make friends. Slowly, his friends became my friends and I became the sociable kid that God created me to be. Without realizing it, life slowly began to bring me down the same dysfunctional paths and bouts with alcoholism that my father battled with. I hope that you will enjoy part one of my testimony of becoming born again.
