How do we design studies in psychology? In this video lecture, I provide an overview of some of the major types of research design that can be done in the laboratory or in the field. I include examples of real studies and cover experiments, quasi-experiments, surveys, and case studies. In addition, I talk about randomization, confounding variables, and other sources of error variance. Note: this lecture is from a course at the University of Queensland that I used to teach on Research Methodology and Statistics in Psychology.
