In this case according to the customer the truck wouldn’t start. Initially we pulled the following code: p2291 (injector control pressure too low). When we tried to start the engine we noticed it had no oil pressure, the oil gauge on the dash would not move imminently when cranking the engine. We then proceeded to remove the ICP sensor to install the air fitting adapter to perform an air test on high pressure oil system. The air leak could be heard from the driver’s side cylinder head. We removed everything in the way to get access to the high pressure oil rail. We located the air leak from the stand pipe area. We had to remove it to inspect it & found one of its O-rings to be broken. We put a new stand pipe & dummy plug before putting it back together. If you do an air pressure test before putting everything back together you’ll probably hear air bubbling up from the top of the injectors, according to the research I made, that would considered normal, the seals on top of the injectors seal themselves off under pressure. Shop air is not enough, you have to try to start the engine & let the high pressure build pressure. The engine should start after cranking it 2-3 times for about 20 seconds.
