Weather Spores: Immersive AI for Ecological Storytelling and Play | AiDLab

Weather Spores invites you to enter a multi-dimensional maze — a sensorial journey through immersive portals, living materials, and AI-driven randomness. Here, artificial intelligence is not a tool of control, but an unpredictable force, encountered through play, chance, and ecological storytelling. Developed by the Radical Matter proto-Centre (School of Arts & Humanities) and Digital Direction (School of Communication) at the Royal College of Art, Weather Spores forms part of ReWilding AI — an artistic research programme exploring the radical mattering of narrative ecologies via immersive and distributed intelligence. Through dice rolls, shape-shifting environments, and encounters with AI-infused matter, Weather Spores challenges the boundaries between knowledge systems, bodies, and machines. This research is funded by the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design under the InnoHK Research Clusters, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. AiDLab, the first research platform that focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with creative design, is a research operation jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and The Royal College of Art (RCA) in the U.K.
