On 8 June, 2023, the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK) held a book launch: Ideas and Solutions – In Search of the Elusive Zimbabwean Dream: An Autobiography of Thought Leadership, Vol. III, at the University of Pretoria's Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) Illovo Campus. The event was chaired by Brian Kagoro, Lawyer and Pan-Africanist. The presentation was by Professor Arthur G.O. Mutambara, Director and Full Professor of IFK at the University of Johannesburg, Zimbabwe’s Former Deputy Prime Minister. Brief remarks were from: 1) Dr Walter Mzembi, Zimbabwe’s Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Former Minister of Tourism; 2) Tatenda Mazarura-Mhike, Regional Information and Advocacy Officer at Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition; 3) Kuseni Dlamini, Rhodes Scholar, Chairman of JSE-listed Massmart Holdings, Chairman of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings, Former CEO of Old Mutual SA and Emerging Markets; 4) Saviour Kasukuwere, Former Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and National Housing, Former Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment and 2023 Zimbabwe Presidential Candidate; 5) Advocate Omphemetse Mooki SC, Rhodes Scholar, SA Lawyer (Senior Council) (Silk); 6) Tambudzai Gonese-Manjonjo, Lawyer and Deputy Director Southern African Litigation Centre (SALC); 7) Sipho Malunga, Lawyer and Director of Programs at Open Society- Africa; 8) Dr Janet Munakamwe, Wits Visiting Senior Lecturer and Chairperson African Diaspora Workers Network (ADWN); 9) Patrick Zhuwao, Zimbabwe’s Former Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment and Former Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare; 11) Dr Anthony Kaziboni, Head of Research of IFK at the University of Johannesburg; and 12) Mutumwa Mawere, Chairman at The 1873 FM, Entrepreneur and Business Leader. Dr Jacqueline Mutambara, CEO of Africa Leadership Institute; Board Member of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, ADvTECH, and ONE Campaign, gave closing remarks.
