Here’s how to up your podcast editing game in 3 steps. 1. Focus on the breaths The number one mistake I hear on beginner editors podcasts, is a breath being cut off. There’s never a reason to cut a breath. If you can’t make the edit without it sounding chopped off, don’t make the edit. 2. Milliseconds matter This will take time and patience when you first start. But it’s worth it, move that clip around by a few milliseconds. Find the natural pace at which the person is talking and match that. 3. Pay attention to the reverb Almost any podcaster is going to have some room reverb. Your job as an editor is to not let that bleed into or out of an edit.
