Elysé & Lance Keltner (Nuevo Retro) backed by the Kaktus Kats Blues Band Shake Your Hips (Slim Harpo) Kaktus Brewing Company Bernalillo, New Mexico October 12, 2025 Video Keith Langerman Photography LLC Elysé and Nuevo Retro deliver a bold collision of smoky soul, raw rock ’n’ roll, and vintage flair—anchored by powerhouse vocals and electrifying musicianship. At the center is Elysé, whose sultry, low-register voice evokes the emotional depth of Etta James and the edgy fire of Amy Winehouse. With a presence that channels the glamour of old-school jazz clubs and the grit of modern soul revival, Elysé brings a magnetic intensity that’s both timeless and fiercely original. The band’s sound is a swaggering blend of dirty blues grooves, cinematic soul, and searing guitar-driven rock, crafted in partnership with acclaimed Austin guitarist, vocalist, and producer Lance Keltner. A veteran of the global music scene, Keltner has toured and recorded with icons such as Rod Stewart, Johnny Rawls, and Phil Lewis (L.A. Guns), with credits on labels including Atco East/West, Mascot, and Ulftone Records. His guitar work on Rawls’ Ace of Spades helped land the album Blues Album of the Year, and behind the board, he's collaborated with legendary producers like Jim Gaines (ZZ Top, Santana), Ross Hogarth (Van Halen, Jewel), and Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones). About Lance Keltner : Lance Keltner is a Texas-based guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer whose music fuses blues, rock, and Americana with raw emotion and technical fire. With a career spanning over three decades, Keltner has earned a reputation as a soulful storyteller and a fearless sonic explorer. Born in Oklahoma and raised on a steady diet of Hendrix, Page, and Texas blues, Keltner picked up the guitar at age 10 and was gigging in clubs by 12. By 19, he had relocated to Austin, immersing himself in the city’s legendary music scene and opening for icons like Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, and The Allman Brothers. In 1992, Keltner released his self-titled debut on East West Records, showcasing a gritty, melodic style that drew comparisons to classic rock’s golden era while carving out his own voice. Over the years, he released a string of albums—including Empty V and Last of the Cowboy Vampires (produced by Andy Johns, known for his work with Led Zeppelin and Van Halen)—that blended blues roots with cinematic textures and hard-driving riffs. Keltner’s band Cowboy Vampires became a cult favorite in Europe, where he headlined festivals in Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. He also collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Rod Stewart, David Grissom, Carmine Rojas, and Tal Bergman. He even contributed guitar work to the popular video game Big Buck Hunter. In 2021, Keltner faced a life-altering battle with COVID-19 that left him hospitalized and, by his own account, spiritually transformed. Emerging from the experience with renewed purpose and sobriety, he returned to the studio and recorded Lance Keltner & Nuevo Retro in just two weeks. The album, released in 2022, blends new material with reimagined versions of earlier songs, capturing the urgency and clarity of an artist reborn. Elysé + Nuevo Retro have just signed a worldwide record deal with Better Noise Records, headed by Motley Crue manager Allan Kovac. - (Album release is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2026 ) and are preparing for a massive 2026 tour, with over 200 live dates planned across the U.S. and internationally.
