Dynamax Ho-Oh has made its debut in Max Battle Weekend in Season: Precious Paths. Dynamax Ho-Oh is a Fire/Flying type Pokemon, which is weak against Water/Electric type moves and double weak to Rock-type move. By checking the attempt, it seems Dynamax Ho-Oh has 0.7 CPM and 27000 HP, which is notably higher than its counterpart, Dynamax Lugia. As a Max Battle Boss, Dynamax Ho-Oh can use any charged move it could learns through Elite Charged TM. It will pick 2 moves out of Sacred Fire/Fire Blast/Solarbeam/Brave Bird/Earthquake as LARGE ATTACK and target move respectively. With its much higher HP stat, Dynamax Ho-Oh is notably more defensive than Dynamax Lugia, ironically. Interestingly, that's not the difficult part. The true difficulty lies on the fact that all its move has high base power, with the lowest being 120. The only upside is its move can be double resisted by existing option. Like Dynamax Lugia will double resists Earthquake, Dynamax Corviknight will double resists Solarbeam, and Dynamax Omastar will double resists Sacred Fire/Fire Blast. This means those particular 3 Pokemons are the one we would rely on tanking those hard hitting moves this time. On the attacker side, with Dynamax Roggenrola's debut, Dynamax Gigalith is the strongest attacker against Dynamax Ho-Oh. However, its gap to Gigantamax Inteleon is slim unless Dynamax Cannon Adventure Effect is in effect. Since the difference between Gigantamax Inteleon and Dynamax Gigalith is slim, this time we will have Gigantamax Inteleon as attacker, and Dynamax Lugia/Dynamax Omastar as tank against Dynamax Ho-Oh. Similar to all previous Solo Battle against Dynamax Legendary, we will aim for completing the battle in 6th Max Phase, which left us 18 Max Moves to use. In order to minimize Max Guard usages, we would relying on Dynamax Lugia tanking target Earthquake, which is the most favorable matchup in defensive side against Dynamax Ho-Oh. Depends on luck, Dynamax Lugia and Dynamax Omastar can survive through the battle with only 3 Max Guards on each of them. This left Gigantamax Inteleon 12 G-Max Hydrosnipe to use. With 12 G-Max Hydrosnipe, it can defeat Dynamax Ho-Oh with Max Mushroom usage and 2 gloves helper, without activating Adventure Effect or relying on weather boost. Of course, by using Dynamax Omastar as secondary tank, we are expecting a Fire-type LARGE ATTACK. However, this Solo Battle is extremely luck dependent, such that a good start with a worse moveset is sufficient to outperform a bad start with optimal moveset, which is exactly the case of this Solo Battle. At last, Dynamax Ho-Oh has only ever used 2 Brave Bird before it got stronger, which allows the team survive through the battle.
