Calculating the maximum demand of a single circuit is pretty straightforward, figuring out maximum demand for an entire installation is very tricky. Even the official guidelines from industry bodies state that it's difficult to find maximum demand accurately. This might be the reason why when you follow the official guidance you sometimes get a really high figure.
