“Stitchin’ in the New Day” is a dark, rustic storytelling song set around a quilting frame where Jolee, Mae, Wanda, and Mary Ann talk through Scripture while sewing. As questions rise about Colton’s teaching that Christ already fulfilled His coming, Jolee gently opens the Bible and lets the verses speak. Drawing from Romans 13, Hebrews 8, 2 Corinthians 5, Revelation 21, and 1 Corinthians 10 (LSB), the song presents the full-preterist view that the Old Covenant night passed away and the New Covenant day has already arrived. With the steady rhythm of needle and thread, the women realize they are not waiting for the Kingdom — they are living in it. Full Lyrics Intro (spoken – soft room noise, quilt frame creak) Wanda (spoken): “Jolee… at church Colton’s been sayin’ Jesus already came back. Why don’t folks believe that?” Mae (spoken): “Yeah… tell us about that New Day.” (soft guitar + fiddle enters) Verse 1 Quilt frame set in the front room wide, Needles flashin’ slow, Mary Ann hummin’ under her breath, Thread pullin’ to and fro. Sunlight layin’ on the floor, Coffee on the stand, Wanda looked across at Jolee, Bible in her hand. Verse 2 Jolee smiled and turned a page, Voice calm, soft but clear, “Paul said the night was almost gone… The day was already near.” Spoken Scripture “The night is almost gone, and the day is at hand.” — Romans 13:12 Chorus We’re stitchin’ in the New Day, Not waitin’ for the dawn, Old night faded long ago, The Kingdom has come on. Shadow passed, the light has stayed, Just like the prophets said, We ain’t hopin’ for tomorrow — We’re livin’ in it instead. Verse 3 Mae pulled thread and nodded slow, “What about the old Law way?” Jolee turned to Hebrews plain, “It was fixin’ to pass away.” Spoken Scripture “What is becoming obsolete is ready to disappear.” — Hebrews 8:13 Verse 4 Mary Ann said, “New creation… That ain’t just someday, right?” Jolee read from Corinthians, “Girl, it’s already light.” Spoken Scripture “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 Chorus We’re stitchin’ in the New Day, Needle runnin’ straight, Old world shaken, new one standin’, Just like He said it’d take. Temple fell, the veil was torn, The promise finished true, We ain’t waitin’ on the Kingdom — We’re livin’ in the new. Verse 5 Wanda leaned across the frame, “Revelation talks ‘bout earth made new…” Jolee flipped the pages slow, “That was covenant language too.” Spoken Scripture “The first heaven and the first earth passed away…” — Revelation 21:1 “Upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” — 1 Corinthians 10:11 Verse 6 Sara laughed from the kitchen door, Girls still workin’ the line, Truth settlin’ in that little room One stitch at a time. Jolee closed the Bible gentle, Looked at every face, “We’re not waitin’ on the New Day, We’re livin’ in that grace.” Final Chorus (low harmony enters) We’re stitchin’ in the New Day, Thread runnin’ through the years, Old night gone, the mornin’ here, No need for end-time fears. Mystery finished, kingdom stands, Just like the Word has said, We ain’t watchin’ for tomorrow — We’re walkin’ in it instead. Outro (spoken, warm) Mary Ann: “Well… that’ll preach right there.” Jolee (soft laugh): “Just keep readin’, girls.” (fiddle fades)
