This is me having my fifth Kanto Gym battle against Janine, the Poison-type expert, at the Fuchsia Gym during my Pokémon Crystal walkthrough. You can battle the Kanto Gym Leaders at any order you like in Gold, Silver, and Crystal, but since Fuchsia Gym is the fifth Gym you'll reach during main plot #2, it is an easy choice for your sixth Kanto Gym battle, unless you want to challenge the Kanto Gyms in the original order. Due to the previous Fuchsia City Gym Leader, Koga, being promoted into the Elite Four, his daughter, Janine, is now in charge of the Gym instead. The Trainers in the Gym have all disguised themselves to look like Jasmine, but the real one can be found near the west wall. Janine uses a team of Crobat, two Weezing, Ariados, and Venomoth. Much like her father, she likes to use annoying status moves to slowly defeat your Pokémon. Her Crobat and Venomoth know Supersonic, Crobat also knows Confuse Ray, and Weezing and Venomoth know Toxic. Ariados likes to slow your Pokémon down with Scary Face and String Shot, as well as striking set 33 damage with Night Shade and healing itelf with Giga Drain. As for offensive side, beware of Venomoth's Psychic and Weezing's Sludge Bomb. Also, watch out for Weezing's Explosion: both of them know this powerful attack, so try not to leave them with critical health, as they are most likely to use it when they're already weak. A decent Psychic-type attacker like Espeon is likely your best bet here, as all of Janine's Pokémon are weak against Psychic-type moves. Crobat is also weak against Ice, Rock, and Electric, Weezing are also weak against Ground-type moves (no Levitate in this Generation), and Ariados and Venomoth are also weak against Fire- and Flying-type moves. After defeating Janine, she will award you with the Soul Badge, which slightly boosts your Pokémon's Defense, as well as TM06 for Toxic, a Poison-type move that badly poisons the target, meaning that the poison damage gets greater every turn. PS. Sorry for the sound going off-sync. PPS. Please comment and rate! :D
