Le Cantor Pavel Roytman est originaire de Nikolaev, en Ukraine. À l'âge de sept ans, il a été accepté comme étudiant en piano dans une école de musique pour enfants surdoués. Il poursuit ses études de piano et de direction d'orchestre au Kaliningrad Music College (Russie) puis au Petrozavodsk State Conservatory. En 1994, Cantor Roytman immigre aux États-Unis où il obtient son Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance de De Paul University et Master of Music et en musicologie de l'Université Northwestern. Il a également étudié la chazzanut avec les maîtres bien connus Hazzan Shlomo Shuster, Hazzan Henry Rosenblum, Hazzan Cory Winter et Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi. Depuis 2002-2006, Cantor Roytman a participé au programme de certification cantorale. Après son achèvement, il a été ordonné Hazzan par la Conférence américaine des cantors. In 2017, he was awarded by the Cantor’s Assembly.
