Upper part of wall is the safe, too, but you need to grab on wall and stay here until he moves with Ascendant's Grip, or press jump/dash button all time. About tactic for phase one - when he is about to appear, hit with needle, then jump instantly and perform downward attack (2 hits if boss will try to throw something at you, 1 hit - if he will rush to other corner). When he rushes to corner - jump over his head and rush for him too, hit them once or twice with your weapon in his back. You may use clawline for this, but it will not let you to gain 2 silks per your turn of attacking phase. In any case, if he appears from the ground, safest place - is over his head. In all phases.
