In this video I spend a long weekend exploring Marfa, Valentine, and Big Bend National Park on a West Texas road trip from Austin. What started as a simple trip to see the art scene in Marfa, Texas turned into one of the strangest and most fun travel experiences I’ve had in the U.S. Over three days we visited Marfa’s art galleries and the Judd Foundation, stopped at the famous Prada Marfa installation, found great food (including one of the best sandwiches in Texas), and ended up in a true West Texas dive bar in Valentine, Texas on Valentine’s Day! The trip also included a sunrise hike on the Lost Mine Trail in Big Bend National Park, incredible desert landscapes and brisket tacos in Terlingua.
