Part 1 of our day trip to Pisac, Peru. Today, we boarded a colectivo (shared bus) to do one of the most popular Cusco Day Trips, a day visit to Pisac Market. This Cusco to Pisac ride costs only 5 Peruvian Soles, or less than 1.50 USD! The Market in Pisac is considered to be one of the must visits in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It's the the biggest market in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Due to its popularity, this market in Pisac happens three times a week (Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). But the Sunday Pisac Market is still the best day to experience this colorful place. At 11 am, they have a Catholic mass at the Iglesia de San Pedro Apostol, the main church in Pisac. The mass is in the Quechua language, and locals show up in colorful traditional Andean clothing. We also visited the Horno Colonial San Francisco, one of the communal ovens in town. It is a clay oven, mainly to cook cui (guinea pig) or empanadas. A very interesting scene to check out in Pisaq! This is part 1 of our Pisac Day Trip, which only includes the Pisac Market on Sunday.
