Precision Imaging for the booming photonics industry

The thing that impressed me the most when I started at Applied Image was the level of craftsmanship and pride that went into the work that people produce. Applied Image is a precision imaging company. The products that we make are used across the whole photonics-based system, calibration, alignment, setup of the systems; any place that light is being used in an instrument. Since 2016 we've been bringing in co-op students and interns from the various universities around the area. We like to have folks with a curious mind, a motivation to work and learn. I met Paul Conroe in 2015, and we started conversations about how we might be able to leverage and provide opportunities for students coming through this great program. It's a good fit with the whole ecosystem in Rochester as a hub for this type of industry, and the applications for it are endless. So, it's a great spot for the youth in the area, whichever path they choose, four-year, two-year, or straight out of high school, to get involved in this industry at this time because it's booming
