In a world where we also got "Coat Rack," this song could never take the crown as my favorite Deep Elm track, but it's still a pretty great tune to me. I especially love the final third where it feels like all the pieces start to collapse in on one another. Conflicting sources claim this band hailed from Athens, Georgia; Athens, Ohio; and Columbus, Ohio, so your guess is as good as mine. It looks like they kept going for another decade after this, but called it for good a couple years back. Ah well. Not like their short-lived RBN release gave us much hope in that regard anyway. The main beat on this is fairly unique. For an otherwise unsuspecting two-dot drums chart, you'd be pleasantly surprised. The animations do look a bit goofy on this one because the BEAT track swaps to half-speed during the slow sections. The actual BPM is charted from 170-180 through most of the track, but with the beat markers the way they are, the animations may as well be 85 during the half-drain bits. It only really stands out because it keeps swapping back and forth. Had they stuck to just one, most people wouldn't have noticed.
